Springbok Hallmark puzzles are what started my obsession with puzzles back in the 1980s! The Hallmark store, which sold the most amazing Springbok puzzles, was in the same shopping center as Wendy’s, where I worked in high school. December 1st marks a special occasion for puzzlers and the Christmas season, it is the start of some fun countdown to Christmas puzzles! Advent calendars have been around for years but the puzzle advent calendar is fairly new, I think. This year, 2024, my puzzling has been a bit different than my super fun and busy puzzle year of 2023. I went back to work full-time as a medical coder early in the year. I knew I wouldn’t be able to puzzle full time forever (yet) since we do have a house payment and a high schooler who has some pretty high college aspirations! 2023 was the most fun, the most busy, and the most amazing puzzle year I have experienced so far in my entire life! I started my YouTube channel, Addicted2Puzzles, on January 1st, 2017! I cannot believe my YouTube channel is almost 8 years old! From Floor Puzzling to a Full Puzzle Room – Table Included!
My puzzle areas have transformed and largely progressed throughout my years of puzzling, thankfully! As a kid, I puzzled on my bedroom floor. The Early Beginnings of my Puzzle Life
I started puzzling when I was a young kid in the late 1970’s. We didn’t have YouTube and Playstations and all the distractions kids (and adults) have today. I remember doing puzzles, playing cards and board games with my family, and that’s if we weren’t outside riding bikes and skateboards, roller skating, and playing hopscotch.
